A munro is a mountain above 3000ft or 914m. The term was created by Sir Hugh Munro, 4th Baronet (1856-1919) and originally only applied to Scottish mountains meeting the height criteria, however in order to get further out into the mountains and for a bit of training a UAE/Oman list has been created. Each mountain shown in the map below was selected by meeting the following three criteria:
1.Higher than 3000ft/914m.
2.In the UAE or Oman north of 24 degrees north.
3.Named on at least one of two 1970s map series I have
